Well, having products or medicines based on rare cannabinoids would give a competitive advantage but how can you get new hemp/cannabis strains to use as the basis for these products?
This is where Cambridge Biotechnology Consulting comes in (https://cambridgebiotechconsults.com). We can help you make unique hemp/cannabis strains with novel mixtures of cannabinoids.

The cannabinoid biosynthetic pathway occurs in trichomes and a main part of the pathway is linear - from hexanoate to CBG. CBG is called the “Mother of Cannabinoids” because it is the cannabinoid from which THC, CBD, CBC and other cannabinoids are all derived.
Cambridge Biotechnology Consulting has the experience to use non-GMO methods, that are non-proprietary, to manipulate this pathway very successfully. The resulting unique strains can be used for novel products. For example:
Zero THC
Zero cannabinoids (perhaps the ideal variety for the hemp-derived food industry).
Higher CBG
Higher CBD
Higher CBC
Higher levels of other rare cannabinoids.
Developing a successful hemp variety that can be sold as seed to growers probably takes over 3 years of breeding (this is common in many crop plants). However, if your goal is to develop a strain that makes large amounts of cannabinoids other than CBD or THC (for example CBG or CBC), then clonal production originating from a single mother plant could take as little as 18 months.
The result - unique products based on unique cannabis strains.
Everyone has CBD-based products but wouldn’t you also like CBC- or CBG-based ones?
The biggest missing piece in the cannabis biotech puzzle - transformation
We need to be able to transform cannabis to do gene editing for new varieties and products.
We also need it to determine targets for cannabis improvement.
It has proved difficult but we have some excellent ideas about how to do this on a routine basis. Who is interested? hashtag#cannabis hashtag#cannabinoids hashtag#hemp hashtag#plantscience hashtag#cbd
